DECODENCE
‘Decodence” was my graduate thesis project executed during my second year in the Illustration as Visual Essay masters program at the School of Visual Arts. With this project I explored my new fascination with print design and the application to everyday objects. My focus was on the aesthetics of Art Deco architecture in New York City blended with some elements from Art Nouveau as well.
Fabricating this room gave me opportunities to learn brand new skillsets and connecting with artisans around the world to help bring my prints to life. This immersive installation was designed to express the taste and personality of the woman who resides in it; Decodence in and of itself is a self portrait.
