This project was a hand bound fully screen printed 62 page book about my grandmother Rosalia Guido. She, unfortunately, passed away as I was working on this project in June of 2021. I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to spend this time with her cooking some of her most memorable dishes from my childhood and documenting every step.

The book is not just a recipe book but a visual essay on my relationship with my grandmother and the woman who was a core asset in my upbringing. I tried to experiment visually with a combination of illustration and photography to portray the sometimes chaotic lack of precision, love and quirkiness my grandmother put into her delicious food.
